Founding Director, Bayt Abdullah Children's Hospice (BACCH). Kuwait Association for the Care of Children in Hospital (KACCH), Kuwait

"The suffering endured by the parents of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening or life-limiting condition is universal; all parents hope and pray for a cure for their child. This terrible burden they have to carry, often for an undetermined time span, can be made more bearable with the compassionate care of the paediatric palliative care team which should include an acceptable representative of the family’s religious conviction, to give spiritual support to the family as well as ethical and moral legitimacy to the decisions families need to make in the best interests of the child"

I will do all within my power so that every child with a life limiting or a life-threatening illness has access to paediatric palliative care.

Paediatric Palliative Care is the best approach for all children and young people suffering from a life-threatening and/or life-limiting disease.

Collectively, we have the opportunity and awareness to advocate for child-specific palliative care and for its provision as an integral part of the health care system of every country and relieve the suffering of so many more vulnerable children with life-threatening and life-limiting illness.
